Classroom Teachers - Head Start (Marion, Nelson, Washington counties)

The Head Start teacher establishes a learning environment and plans and implements a daily program for child development activities designed to meet the individual needs of the child in one classroom. The teacher coordinates with other component staff to involve parents in education activities to enhance their role as the prime educator of their children. The teacher provides structured education activities for pre-school age children participating in the program. Activities associated with the job include supervising a teacher assistant and volunteers, making recommendations regarding education programs curricula and implement program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governing regulations including all Federal Performance Standards, CLASS and ALLSTARS. Preparing, posting and implementing lesson plans using Frogstreet Press Curriculum, conduct two Parent/Teacher conferences per year, two home visits per year, participating in and assisting with staff training activities and ensuring the thorough and timely completion of children's classroom records. Must have an Associates or Bachelor's ECE or IECE or equivalent.  Criminal check and pre-employment screenings are required.

Mental Health Coach - Head Start

Central Kentucky Community Action Head Start/Early Head Start is looking for a Mental Health Coach.  This position requires a mental health degree and experience working with ages 0 to 5.  Applicants must have knowledge of Head Start, Teaching and Developmental Milestones and experience working with children with challenging behaviors.  This position will coach teachers in the classroom, working with children with Behavioral needs.  This position will manage all mental health areas in Head Start/Early Head Start.  This person will create a wellness plan according to 1302.93 (b) to meet the Head Start Performance Standard. Applicant must be able to work in a team atmosphere. A degree related to Mental Health, ie. Social Work, Psychology required.  Licensed or working towards licensing preferred.

School Readiness Manager - Head Start

The School Readiness Manager ensures that staff has the tools and resources needed to provide quality services to children and families. Field staff acquires the skills and knowledge to provide quality services to children and families. Coordinates designs and provides training relevant to the needs of the target audience, provides information to field staff regarding additional/alternative training opportunities, seeks out and shares current research on best practices and regulations in early childhood education, possesses and applies knowledge of current federal, state and local regulations, and Head Start Performance Standards related to child development services, plans technical assistance site visits, conducts technical assistance site visits, plan and assists with cluster-wide training, monitors, tracks, trains, and supports field staff throughout the CDA process according to the CDA protocol, assists education staff with required credentials.

Quality Assurance Manager - Head Start

Performs advanced level work developing, implementing and maintaining ongoing quality assurance and performance processes to measure, evaluate and ensure quality and performance of the Head Start/Early Head Start program according to the Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Act and other standards as required.  Maintains a thorough knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start policies and procedures, continuous quality improvement processes, monitoring protocols, changes and updates to Federal and State regulations.  Provides leadership in the Head Start/Early Head Start quality assurance efforts. Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, Accounting,  Education, Social Work or a closely related field; minimum of two years Head Start/Early Head Start experience; have knowledge of the philosophy and practices of Head Start/Early Head Start, early childhood education, Kentucky statutes relating to childcare; must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and transportation. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and written.

CK CATS Driver

Central Kentucky Community Action Transportation Services is seeking a qualified individual to provide safe transportation services for clients utilizing the agency's transportation service. Individual will be required, but not limited to the following duties: Provide direct, personalized transportation service to enrolled participants, and assist, as necessary, participants with bundles and/or packages (not in excess of 15 lbs) to and from the vehicle, their residence and/or service destination in agency owned motor vehicle; Must establish and maintain effective relationships within the agency and the community; Must be able to work flexible hours as scheduling may vary daily; Report any problems and locale to the lead driver and/or dispatcher; Must be able to maintain vehicle cleanliness, inspections and logs daily.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent; must possess a high degree of proficiency in reading and writing. Must understand complete instructions for reports and ability to read maps and learn service area. Must possess a Kentucky driver’s license and have access to automobile. Ability to relate to target population. Good physical health. No disabilities that might impair vision, health and endanger passengers as evidenced by DOT Medical Examiners Certificate. Criminal records check required; freedom from illegal drug use as evidenced by DOT/FTA drug testing. Excellent benefits package available after three-month probationary period.
