Retired Senior Volunteer Services

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation. Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Inc’s RSVP program is a regional affiliate of the Corporation of National & Community Services. The program is open to all adults over the age of 55 who are dependable, reside in or near Hardin or Nelson County and are willing to complete their assignment(s). Eligible seniors serve anywhere from a few hours a month to almost full time, though the average commitment is four hours a week. Most volunteers are paired with local community organizations that are already helping to meet community needs.

Service opportunities are as diverse as the communities in which we serve.

Our focus areas include:

  • Financial Literacy Education
  • Food Pantry Support
  • Food Distribution
  • Veterans and Military Families
  • Children Mentoring
  • Senior Companionship

Become a RSVP Volunteer

RSVP volunteers choose how, where and how often they want to serve.

Volunteers receive pre-service orientation training from the organization where they will serve, and supplement insurance while on duty. RSVP Volunteers do not receive monetary incentives but sponsoring organizations may reimburse for some cost incurred during service.
